This tour combines the beautiful scenery and sites of Historic Stellenbosch with excellent wine pairings and some healthy outdoor exercise.
The tour starts 9:00 at the Adventureshop office. Each rider will collect a bike and helmet to suit their size. E-Bikes also available. The guide will have space in the backpack for those who would like to buy wine en-route.
The tour starts with a historic tour of Stellenbosch, visiting some of the historic sites in town. We will cycle through Stellenbosch and head to the scenic Jonkershoek valley. A winding road through oak and poplar forests will take you to a wine estate nestled in the valley bottom, here you can take in the stunning views while doing wine tasting of award winning wines on an island in a lake.
On the way out of the valley, you will stop at another wine estate which sports beautiful grounds and historic Cape Dutch architecture. Here we will do a cellar tour before we start our Chocolate and Wine pairing that will make your taste buds tingle.
After the tasting we will head back into Stellenbosch Town via the Stellenbosch University before ending the tour again at our office
There are some variations to the route, with varying levels of difficulty so the tour can be tailored to suit your cycling ability. Family tours can also be booked.
NEW: Option to do the tour on an E- bike at an additional cost.
Children under 3 years are free (cycle in baby seat with parents). Children in a buggy or half bike. Children who cycle on their own, full rate. Children will do Chocolate and Ice tea tasting.

We had a lovely tour! It was just the four of us so we had our privat tour in a nice tempo. Our tourguide was very enthousiastic. We liked the winetasting and that there was space for our 14 year old to drink what he liked (milkshake)! The weather was good and after the tour we spend some time in town wich was very nice. Very nice experience biking on good mountainbikes through beautiful Stellenbosch and also tasting wine and chocolate (for non alcohol drinkers alternatieve is provided). The ride is only 17 km: I would not mind if it was longer. The guide was very enthusiastic and we got more to know about the history of Stellenbosch. This is the best tour we had this week (we did Robben island, township tour). - Suzy

Fantastic cycling tour around Stellenbosch with a wonderful guide. Great to learn about the history and current day, beautiful and easy cycling and the two vineyards we visited were beautiful and off the beaten track so we probably wouldn't have got there any other way.
