Vaal River Group Day fly fishing

Activity Description

Join us for a day trip with a small group of fellow fly fishers for a day of fly fishing on the Vaal River. An experienced SFA guide will host the group and provide basic guidance on euro-nymphing techniques as well as local knowledge on the fishing at the specific venue.

Target Species:
Mainly smallmouth Yellow fish and mud fish. But from time to time there are Carp, Catfish and the odd Large Mouth Yellow fish around.

Our Vaal River venues are well established Yellow fish/Mudfish venues with diverse fly
fishing opportunities situated approximately 100 km from Joburg (1 – 1 ½ hour’s drive). We mainly use venues close to Parys however when the flow is high we have a super alternative venue. A large selection of deep glides and long rapids make these venues the perfect setting for the novice and experienced angler to apply the tactics learnt from the clinic
