Montagu has beautiful historical buildings and sometimes people say: “If these walls could talk…” History is preserved through the stories we tell. Your guide, Marchelle van Zyl, will be telling you the stories of the mischievious, the naughty ones and the scary ones who lived here and never left…
During the tour you will hear stories about the history of the town as well as stories of some of the characters who lived here. Marchelle gathered the stories from the town’s people. Whether you want to believe it or not, it is up to you. Some of the stories are just outrages, others might send a chill down your spine.
The tour is informative and fun. No one with a white sheet is going to jump out from behind a tree. Well, if they do, it isn’t planned…

Tours are on specific nights, but special family events, birthdays or events can be organized. Minimum of 4 people on a tour.
Also, available as a walking tour.
We have a limited number of kids size bicycles, so please let us know how many you’ll need or bring your own kids bicycle and get a discount.
Pax have to be able to ride a standard adult size bicycle. Back pedal break system. No Gears.

Marchelle,our tour guide was brilliant and captivating. She is very passionate, informative and full of knowledge offering a blend of spooky stories and historical insight too many of the old buildings we visited along the ghost route. We had a great time cycling around beautiful Montagu in the dark just with headlamps on and due to the fact there were no street lights on .. loadshedding ha ha..it gave the tour an extra eerie atmosphere. We learnt about rich historical facts as well as spooky encounters. We definitely highly recommend taking a ghost cycling tour around Montagu with super bubbly Marchelle - Sue
